Attendee Guidelines

Welcome

Thank you for joining us at TEDxPune on 3 October 2026. TEDxPune events exist for one purpose: sharing ideas worth spreading, in an atmosphere of curiosity, generosity and respect.

These guidelines help every attendee, speaker, volunteer and partner enjoy the day. By attending, you agree to follow them and the instructions of the TEDxPune team on site.

TEDxPune is an independently organised event, operated under license from TED.

1. Before You Arrive

• Tickets are personal and non-transferable: Bring your e-ticket (QR code) on your phone or printed or the email received from the Licensee.
• Government Photo ID: Carry a valid government photo ID. The name must match your registration.
• Entry by registration only: Walk-ins, guests and plus-ones cannot be admitted without a ticket or approved email copy.
• Plan your travel: Allow time for traffic and parking; check the venue details in your confirmation email.

2. Arrival and Check-in

• Arrive early: Arrive at least 45 minutes before the first session. Registration, security checks and seating take time.
• Doors close when session begins: Late arrivals wait outside and are seated at the next break, so talks are not interrupted.
• Re-entry: Re-entry is only with your ticket/email.
• Follow volunteer directions: Please cooperate with them.

3. During the Talks

Every talk is a speaker's months of work, delivered once, live and on camera. Help them give their best.

• Phones on silent: Switch phones to silent. No calls, alarms or notification sounds in the auditorium.
• Keep screens down: A bright screen distracts those around you and shows up on camera.
• Stay seated during a talk: Leave or return only between talks, unless it is an emergency.
• No conversations during talks: Save your reactions and questions for the breaks.
• Do not approach the stage: Speakers are not available for questions or photos during sessions.
• Auditorium refreshments: No food or drinks in the auditorium, except sealed water bottles.
• Applaud freely: Laughter and applause are welcome; heckling or interrupting a speaker is not.

4. Photos, Recording and Social Media

• Do not record talks: Video or audio recording of talks is not permitted. Every talk is professionally filmed and will be published on the TEDx Talks official YouTube channel.
• No flash photography: No flash photography during talks.
• Filming and photography consent: You may be photographed or filmed. By attending, you consent to appearing in official TEDxPune photos and video.
• Respect others' privacy: Ask before photographing fellow attendees up close.

5. Code of Conduct

• Inclusive community: TEDxPune is a harassment-free space for everyone, regardless of age, gender, religion, caste, language, disability, appearance or background.
• Mutual respect: Be respectful to speakers, attendees, volunteers, partners and venue staff.
• Constructive discourse: Disagree with ideas, not people. Debate is welcome; personal attacks are not.
• Zero harassment tolerance: No harassment of any kind, including offensive comments, intimidation, unwanted physical contact, stalking or unwelcome attention.
• No selling or promotion: No selling, soliciting or promotion. Do not distribute flyers, pitch products or run commercial, political or religious campaigns at the event.
• Substance-free venue: No alcohol, smoking or illegal substances on the premises, and no entry in an intoxicated state.
• Enforcement: If you experience or see a problem, tell any volunteer or the help desk immediately. The organisers may remove anyone who breaks these rules, without refund.

6. Breaks and Networking

• Connect: The breaks are where TEDx conversations happen. Talk to someone new.
• Return on time: Head back to your seat when the volunteers call out; doors close when the session resumes.
• Speaker conversations: Speakers may mingle in breaks. Keep conversations brief and respectful of their time.
• Partner spaces:Visit our partners' spaces. Engage by choice; your participation in any partner activity is always optional.
• Keep the venue clean: Use the bins provided and return cups and plates to collection points.

7. Safety and Venue Rules

• Security checks: Security checks apply to everyone. Bags may be screened at entry.
• Prohibited items: Weapons, sharp objects, large bags, banners, placards, outside food, professional camera or recording gear, drones and pets (service animals are welcome).
• Emergency exits: Note the emergency exits near your seat. In an emergency, follow volunteer and venue staff instructions calmly.
• Medical assistance: Medical help is available. Alert any volunteer if you or someone near you feels unwell.
• Belongings: Look after your belongings. The organisers are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
• Restricted zones: Respect venue property and stay out of backstage and restricted areas.
• Damage & Property Policy: Attendees are responsible for maintaining their own conduct and are responsible for covering the damages to the property (if caused any) as estimated by the venue (Marigold Banquets N Conventions).
